What is a hearing loop and how does it work?

A hearing loop (also called an induction loop or telecoil loop) is a wire installed around a room or area that generates a magnetic field. Hearing aids and cochlear implant processors with a telecoil setting can pick up this field and convert it back into sound clean, clear sound without background noise or distance.

When it works well, a hearing loop is one of the most transformative pieces of assistive technology there is.
