A desk loop at a GP practice reception

A local GP practice came to us because staff were struggling to communicate with patients who had hearing loss. With a glass screen at the reception desk, conversations were difficult, staff had resorted to writing things down.

Steven visited, assessed the space, and installed a desk loop at the reception counter. A desk loop generates a magnetic signal that is picked up directly by a patient's hearing aid on its telecoil setting, delivering clear speech without the barrier of distance, glass or background noise. Staff reported a noticeable improvement in communication with their regular patients with hearing loss straight away.
