A customer got in touch on behalf of her parents, both of whom are Deaf BSL users living in a flat. They couldn't hear the intercom when someone buzzed at the door, which had been causing real practical difficulties.
Steven recommended the Echochime 300, a wireless flashing doorbell that alerts with a visual flash rather than sound. He then visited in person to install it and demonstrate how it worked, in BSL. The customer told us it was "a lovely surprise." Because it is battery-powered, her parents can move the receiver around the flat with ease and wherever they happen to be, they'll see the flash.
